Escapee, in this case, can be defined as Union Pacific #6944, a DDA40X! Eastbound mixed freight train 34N held a part in the honor of moving this special locomotive from the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri to Altoona, Pennsylvania for cosmetic restoration. At 10:41am, eastbound mixed freight 34N, led by NS #6704 (SD60), NS #8793 (C40-9), BNSF #7496 (ES44DC), (Ex- UP) NS #6514 (SD60), NS #9353 (C40-9W), and MOTX/UP #6944 (DDA40X) passed milepost 70 on Norfolk Southerns Fort Wayne Line in Salem, Ohio. The DDA40X would later be put on the following days 10A to be taken to Juniata Locomotive Shop in Altoona.

Description:  On Sunday, June 7, 2015, a westbound mixed freight passed through Leetonia, Ohio with a prison escapee in consist being returned back to the prison. Prison, in this case, can be defined as a museum. Escapee, in this case, can be defined as Union Pacific #6944, a DDA40X! Westbound mixed freight train 35N held a part in the honor of moving this special locomotive from Norfolk Southern's Juniata Shops in Altoona, Pennsylvania back to the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri after an amazing cosmetic restoration. At 6:08pm, westbound mixed freight 35N, led by NS #2600 (SD70M), NS #9568 (C40-9W), NS #9464 (C40-9W), and MOTX/UP #6944 (DDA40X) passed milepost 63.2 on Norfolk Southern's Fort Wayne Line in Leetonia, Ohio. The train is about to cross the Walnut Street grade crossing, which at the time was taken out of service after having new rail laid on track two. The crossing will be repaved in the next week or so.
