Description:
CSX finally has a heritage unit! The only problem is, it isnt theirs! On Monday, March 24, 2014, westbound empty ethanol train K055 headed west through Struthers, Ohio on CSX rails on Monday, March 24, 2014 with NS #8100 (Nickel Plate Heritage Unit; ES44AC), NS #8088 (ES44AC), and BNSF #4992 (Dash 9-44CW). Here, the train can be seen passing the Pittsburgh and Lake Eries former Gateway Tower and hump. While the P&LE and the Nickel Plate both may be gone, its great to see that the Nickel Plate has been remember with this special unit (COME ON CSX). This is the first NS heritage unit to pass through Youngstown, Ohio on CSX rails.

Right location, wrong line! On Monday, March 24, 2014, westbound empty ethanol train K055 headed west through Youngstown, Ohio at the Center Street interlocking with NS #8100 (Nickel Plate Heritage Unit; ES44AC) leading the way, followed by NS #8088 (ES44AC), and BNSF #4992 (Dash 9-44CW). Whats unique about this picture is that this train is on CSXs New Castle Sub, not on its home rails of the Youngstown Line! This is the first NS heritage unit to pass through Youngstown, Ohio on CSX rails.
