On Monday, March 24, 2014, westbound empty ethanol train K055 headed west through Struthers, Ohio on CSX rails on Monday, March 24, 2014 with NS #8100 (Nickel Plate Heritage Unit; ES44AC), NS #8088 (ES44AC), and BNSF #4992 (Dash 9-44CW). Here, the train can be seen passing the Pittsburgh and Lake Eries former Gateway Tower and hump. While the P&LE and the Nickel Plate both may be gone, its great to see that the Nickel Plate has been remember with this special unit (COME ON CSX). This is the first NS heritage unit to pass through Youngstown, Ohio on CSX rails. |
